DNA and BSA Interaction Studies and Antileukemic Evaluation of Polyaromatic Thiosemicarbazones and Their Copper Complexes

Some ten million cancer deaths occurred in 2020, highlighting the fact that search for new anticancer drugs remains extremely topical. In coordination compounds with relevant biological properties, choice of a metal ion is important design complex. this regard, copper plays peculiar role, thanks to its distinct properties. Thiosemicarbazones are, analogously, unique class ligands because they are easily modifiable, and therefore, versatile terms modulating molecular work, we synthesized characterized, by means X-ray diffraction, four naphthaldehyde anthraldehyde thiosemicarbazone derivatives their complexes be used interaction studies systems. The objective was evaluate antileukemic activity these compounds. Reactions Cu(II) salts produced unexpected oxidation products isolation Cu(I) complexes.
